Hello, dear!
Let’s not blather on about the holidays or weather, shall we? You’re here to take a peek at some new art!
But first, a secret:
One time, in Switzerland, a Peruvian engineer let me sleep in a bed hidden in a wardrobe in the office of the hotel he managed.1
Ok, then. Here’s some art:2
I’ve been playing with watercolor a LOT, which I never expected I’d be interested in. I have a paper project and a lino-cut project I thought I’d rather be doing, but here we are. It’s joyful and exploratory and a surprisingly expressive medium for me so I might even splurge on some “real” watercolor paper.
Currently, I use paper inherited from a grandparent (thanks, Geema!), watercolors that were probably a hand-me-down for my first kid (stealing from children!), and my spouse’s oil paint brushes (artistic blaspheme!).
So, yeah… it’s a challenge for me to spend money. I also abhor seeing things go unused or, worse, sent to landfills. I’ve got… strong opinions. Perhaps I’ll attempt some blog posts (just on this website). What do you think?
Thanks for tuning in!
Love,
Elizabeth
Nothing untoward! The hostel was full and I needed a place to crash for one night. He asked for an English lesson in exchange.
